What is recorded here

Killernan castle stands in ruins beside Killernan, County Mayo. Its walls have broken and its chambers have emptied, but the shape remains visible enough to mark where human hands once built a defensible place. The site belongs to the unfinished record, waiting for discovery rather than display. What is known is that a castle existed there; what is lost is the life it held.
