What is recorded here

In a wooded hollow. Country House of late-18th/early-19th century appearance now a ruined shell with blocked-up windows. Contemporary stable block converted to dwelling. Walled garden to rear of house. No evident trace of medieval castle and it is doubtful, despite the name, if there ever was a castle here (Westropp 1906-7, 158). Compiled by: Denis Power Date of Upload: 3 August 2012
