Castle

Castlequarter rises in County Clare as a tower house, its stones still carrying the shape of hands that built it to watch, keep or defy. It belongs to the long line of Clare castles where ordinary life moved through narrow doors and tall windows. The quarter around it may have crowded the lane at market, hidden in storms or waited out soldiers, though no name survives to mark those moments. What remains is a building that refused to disappear, holding its angle against time and leaving the lives inside it partly imagined.
