Carrauntoohil is the highest peak in Ireland, with an elevation of 1,038.6 metres (3,407 feet). It is part of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks range and composed mainly of ancient metamorphic rock; it holds cultural significance as a popular hiking destination and symbol of the Kerry landscape.
