What is recorded here
Cairn is a partly sod-covered stone mound in rough pasture on a south-facing slope above the Sheen River valley in County Kerry, Ireland. It measures 2.6m north-south, 1.6m east-west and 0.42m high, with basal stones still protruding through the peat. Two other cairns lie within 50m, and a relict field boundary marks the edge of an older working landscape. The mound may have guided people through open pasture, marked a boundary or honoured someone whose name has not survived.
