What is recorded here
Carnmoon held a prehistoric cairn until destruction removed it, leaving only absence behind. The stones may have marked burial, boundary or ceremony, but no intact chamber remains to confirm the purpose. What is certain is that the cairn existed, was recorded, and was lost.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as CAIRN (destroyed). Recorded period: PREHISTORIC. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
