What is recorded here

In bogland. A spread (L 4.4m; Wth 5m; D 0.08m) of yellow/orange peat ash was noted along the face of a drain and on the field surface. In many places the ash was covered by stratified peat and may be evidence of an episode of burning in the bog. Compiled by: Mary Tunney based on data supplied by the former Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit, University College, Dublin. Date of upload: 22 November 2011
