For a brief moment during road works, a six-metre patch of heat-cracked stone and charcoal soil appeared on the west bank of the Dee, marking an ancient place where people likely boiled water or prepared food beside the current. Heavy machinery soon erased the mound before proper study could begin, denying modern eyes the chance to read its deeper layers. The loss transforms the site into a ghost story about human carelessness, yet the river still flows past the exact spot where that forgotten fire once smoked.

Situated on the W bank of the river Dee. A spread of heat cracked stones and charcoal rich soil (c. 6 metres square) was identified during road construction works (Excavation Licence 99E0200).
