Small burnt mound with very little (if any) surface expression. Located on raised ground to East of river. The surrounding area is boggy ground. Mound material (charcoal stained soil with a high frequency of burnt stone) revealed in drain where it lies just below sod mound c. 5m diameter and between 0.15m to 0.20m thick. Burnt mound in Loumanagh South is a Neolithic ritual or industrial site, dating to approximately 4000–2500 BCE. Its significance lies in providing evidence of early land use, possibly for heat-related activities such as cooking, hide processing, or ceremonial purposes.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
