Burnt mound in Kilmaloo East

Located at the bottom of a N-S valley with a stream immediately adjacent to the E. An area of burnt and broken stone (dims. 20m x 17m) is visible when ploughed. Burnt mound in Kilmaloo East is a Bronze Age ritual or industrial site, characterized by a scatter of heat-altered stones. Its location near a stream suggests it may have been used for water heating or ceremonial purposes.
