Ballyheeny Bridge

Three-arch rubble stone road bridge over river, c.1800. Random rubble stone walls with lime mortar, cut-stone triangular cut-waters to piers, and rendered coping to parapets. Series of three segmental arches with limestone ashlar voussoirs, and squared rubble stone soffits having lime render over. Sited spanning Licky River with grass banks to river.

An elegantly-composed bridge forming an attractive feature in the locality, the rubble stone construction assimilating the bridge into the surrounding landscape. The bridge forms an important element of the civil engineering heritage of County Waterford, as indicated by the construction of the arches.
