Burnt mound in Johnstown — Report the wrong picture

Situated at the N end of a N-S valley with the headwaters of a N-S stream c. 15m to the W. An oval area of burnt and broken stones (dims. 10m NW-SE; 4.5m NE-SW) is visible in the ploughed field. Burnt mound (WA016-104002-) is immediately to the E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Burnt mound, likely dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age. These features are commonly associated with ritual or industrial activities, such as heat-treated stone use in cooking or hide processing.
