Located on the floodplain of the W-E River Suir, c. 120m S of the river and c. 70m NW of St Anthony's Well (WA003-005----). An area of broken and burnt stone (dims. 5m x 4m) was investigated during the laying of a Bord Gáis pipeline. (M. Gowan fieldnotes) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Waterford' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Burnt mound in Coolnamuck Demesne is a Neolithic ritual or industrial site, dating to the 4th–3rd millennium BCE. Its significance lies in providing evidence of early human activity, possibly related to cooking, heating, or ceremonial practices in the River Suir floodplain.
