Burnt mound in Ballaheen is a hidden heat scar on a NNW-facing slope, where dark earth and shattered stones still mark the place beneath pasture grass. It overlookes a marshy area, suggesting people once forced water and heat together at the edge of ordinary land. The mound may have built baths, cooked food or cleared ground, but the grass has swallowed the answer. What remains is a warm possibility, holding the shape of human urgency while refusing to explain itself.
