Mortuary urns and scorched bones surfaced from gravel hills in Nurney Demesne, County Kildare, before the precise spot was forgotten. The chamber pot of a dead person may have stood among broken vessels when the ground was opened. What is left is a vanished funeral field, reduced to clay fragments and the memory of heat.

Recorded in the NMI Finds Register (208/56: 1859-1883) as, 'Cinerary Urn found about three feet (c. 0.91m) underground in a gravel hill … near which there were formerly found some broken urns and burnt bones.
