Two strange grave-like chambers sit on the southern edge of Brandon Bay, built from three slabs each and stretching six feet into the cold earth. People found them empty three decades ago, denying the dead a final rest but giving the living a puzzle. The coast keeps its secrets in stone, waiting for someone brave enough to ask what the chambers were truly made to hold.

Two 'grave-like' structures were discovered here about 30 years ago, on the coastal strip bordering the S side of Brandon Bay. They were roughly 6 feet (1.8m) long and each was covered by 3 slabs; no bones were found inside (local information). The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. A Neolithic portal dolmen; dating to approximately 3000–2500 BCE. Its significance lies in its coastal location and megalithic construction, reflecting early ceremonial or funerary practices in the region.
