Two whitethorn trees marked the burial place of two priests martyred in Penal Times, standing beside a stone circle and mound until the last tree vanished around 1985. The grave hid in pasture north of Glounteenahran valley, absent from every map and now without visible trace. What remains is the shape of loss: a small circle of stones, two living witnesses, and the quiet certainty that men were killed for praying where they were told not to.

Not marked on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps. Bowman (1934, 129) recorded burial place of two priests martyred in Penal Times where until c. 1910 a mound, enclosed by 'circle of stones placed on end' (ibid.), covered grave and site marked by two whitethorn trees c. 2.5m apart. According to local information, single remaining tree removed c. 1985. In pasture, to N of steep-sided valley of Glounteenahran (Gleanntan an Aifrinn). No visible surface trace remains.
