What is recorded here
On Turk Island, on the E side of the entrance to Laurence's Cove on the N side of Bear Island. This small island is densely covered with ferns and gorse. O'Sullivan (1992, 56) recorded that in pre-Famine times, sailors from a Turkish ship, on which there was an outbreak of cholera, died and were buried on this island. There are three graves marked by flagstones.
