Glenaphuca holds a buried field called reliegeon, where local memory points to pagan deaths beneath soil now claimed back for living use. The land has been reclaimed and smoothed, leaving no visible trace, yet the name still carries the weight of what slept below. People may have walked across unknown graves for generations, unaware that ordinary ground had become a temporary skin over older loss.

According to local information, field known locally as 'religeon' was'pagan burial ground'. Field recently reclaimed; no visible surface trace. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994).
