Burial ground in Doonbreedia

Burial ground

What is recorded here

This record refers to a burial ground mentioned in the 1838 OS Letters: ‘There is a burying place called Lishín (Lisheen) in Dunbride (Dún Brighde) Townland.' (O’Flanagan 1927, 183 (72)). The exact location is uncertain, but one possibility is that it was located at or close to an enclosure (MA038-110---), now levelled, where according to local tradition there was a burial site.
