What is recorded here
Burial Gd is an overgrown ringfort in County Cork where forgotten markers still break through the grass. A single engraved headstone from the 19th century stands beside the southwest entrance, naming one life while the others remain hidden beneath leaves and soil. The place keeps its dead quietly, not behind walls but under growth, waiting for someone to walk in and remember that burial is not the same as forgetting.
In ringfort (CO102A00102-). Interior overgrown covering small gravemarkers. One 19th century engraved headstone inside entrance to SW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
