What is recorded here

On the top of the W end of the N wall of a ruined church (TS077-069----) which is located in a graveyard (TS077-069001-) on a NE-facing slope in gently undulating pasture. The bullaun stone (dims. 0.3m x 0.43m; D 0.11m) appears to be composed of sandstone. One side has been broken off. The bowl measures 0.23m in diameter. Probably dating to the early Christian period (5th–10th centuries), the bullaun stone may have been used for ritual purposes, such as anvil stones for making holy crosses or as a site for pilgrimages and blessings. Local folklore sometimes associates such stones with saintly activity or healing traditions.
