Bullaun stone in Sleanaglogh,aghowle Upper (newcastle By.)

The bullaun stone is in a large granite boulder 75 cm H, circa 1m wide, which is set into the bank flanking the east side of the road, i.e. on the townland boundary of Sleanaglogh/Aghowle Upper, but more truly in Sleanaglogh. The Bullaun consists of a steep sided bowl - 32 by 30 cm across at the top: 13-14 cm deep. Beside this is a crows foot benchmark. On the southside (right) of the bullaun stone the top of the boulder has a slight depression, almost saucer shaped, 25 cm across: 2-3 cms deep, as if created by rubbing / grinding (not unlike a saddle quern).
