Within early ecclesiastical enclosure (CO147-006002-). Rectangular block of sandstone (0.68m x 0.5m) with circular hollow (diam. 0.4m; D 0.08m) off centre on upper surface. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). Probably dates to the early Christian period, associated with monastic or ritual activity. The hollow may have been used for grinding herbs or as a baptismal font, reflecting its ecclesiastical context.
