Situated 30m E of a holy well (WI010-015----). Single basin (diam. 0.37m; D 0.13m) in a large boulder, moved to its present location during land clearance. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). Likely dating to the early Christian period, bullaun stones were often associated with holy wells and used for ritual purposes, such as the anointing of the sick. They may also have earlier prehistoric origins, reflecting a continuity of sacred landscape use.
