Bullaun stones mark holy wells and meditation corners across Ireland. In Cloon East one lies embedded in the west wall of a stone hut, its shallow circular dish still visible on the upper surface. It may have come from the neighbouring holy well, carried or fallen into the hut during some forgotten change of use. Either way the chamber keeps a piece of that older water-side practice, making an ordinary dwelling into a place where prayer, memory and daily life still touch.

Lying on its W wall of hut KE082-081---- is a bullaun-type stone, .93m x .62m x .2m, which features a circular depression, .33m in diameter, on its upper surface. It may perhaps derive from the holy well (KE082-021----) in the neighbouring townland. The above description is derived from A. O'Sullivan and J. Probably dating to the early Christian period, the bullaun stone is associated with ritual or healing practices, often linked to nearby holy wells. The circular depression may have been used for grinding herbs or as a vessel for holy water, reflecting its spiritual or medicinal significance in local tradition.
