Bullaun stones are holy water basins, often linked to baptism or healing, and this one stood beside a living stream in the Kilcarriel graveyard. It has vanished under decades of rotting leaves and tangled roots, hiding the very water it once caught. The church still stands, the stream still flows, and the stone may still be there, waiting for someone brave enough to dig through the decay and remember why the place was sacred.

In the graveyard (CO139-020001-) of Kilcarriel church (CO139-020003-). According to local information, a bullaun stone was noted in the 1980s to the W of the church and on the W bank of the stream that flows through the graveyard. This bullaun stone could not be located in 2008 and it is likely to have been covered with decaying vegetation and overgrowth.
