In grassland atop low rise of ground with good views in all directions situated at base of W face of high cross (TS066-068002-). Holy well (TS066-065----) 257m to NW and church (TS066-068001-) 20m to N. An oval-shaped sandstone boulder (dims. c. 0.75m x 0.65m) with a deep centrally placed basin ( diam. 0.37m; D 0.25m) with oval-shaped grinding stone/ rubber stone (diam. 0.2m) sitting in basin. This stone appears to be the original grinding stone and fits perfectly into the basin. Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 26 August 2011

Probably dates to the early Christian period (5th–9th centuries AD) and may have been used for ritual purification or as a holy site associated with the nearby church and holy well. Bullaun stones are often linked to Christian and pre-Christian traditions, possibly reflecting a continuity of sacred landscape use.
