Bullaun stones mark prayer, meditation or sacrifice, yet this one sits inside a ringfort rather than beside a church. Its shallow circular hollow may have held oil, water or a candle for private devotion within a defended home. The distinction matters because worship and domestic life were not always separate in early Ireland.
