Triple-span cast-iron deck road bridge, erected 1878, over Belgooly River. Cast-iron piers to east and west banks of river, set on battered limestone piers. Cast-iron columns with lattice girders forming supports. Steel railings added, c.1930.

This unusual cast-iron bridge marks the technical advances of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, which saw the use of new, mass produced materials for civil engineering purposes. It contrasts with the traditional stone built bridges which were built throughout the area in the nineteenth century. Retaining much of its original form and fabric, it is a fine addition to the local architectural heritage.
