Single-arch limestone railway bridge, built 1860, carrying embanked Shantonagh Junction to Cootehill line of Great Northern Railway over road. Now disused. Round arch with rock-faced rusticated sandstone voussoirs and dressed snecked stone soffit and abutments. Rock-faced rusticated sandstone quoins, and cut-stone impost course. Dressed snecked parapets, buttressing walls, approach walls, both with rock-faced rusticated sandstone coping stones. Recent timber steps to bank to west side of south elevation.

This robust railway bridge with rusticated and tooled sandstone masonry is typical of mid-nineteenth-century railway architecture. Notwithstanding its disuse as a railway, this bridge retains its character, and the craftsmanship and engineering skill are evident. While it served the same purpose as the nearby railway bridge at Clossagh Beg to the north, the difference in form, treatment and character between the two highlights the skills of the masons involved. This makes a notable group and contrasts pleasingly with the nearby road and rail bridges over the Dromore River.
