What is recorded here
Boyeeghter Strand is recorded as a beach / strand in County Donegal.
A hidden horseshoe of sand on the Melmore Head peninsula near Downings, reached only by a walk across open bog and dunes. No road, no sign, no facilities, which is exactly why it stays one of the most beautiful and quiet beaches in the country. The strong currents that gave it its dark name mean it is for looking at, not swimming.
