Boulder-burial in Kilmore (carbery West (e.d) By.) — Report the wrong picture

What is recorded here

Kilmore holds four boulder-burials in an eight-metre line, but this is the last at the SW end, an irregular stone leaning on a hidden supporter while pasture stretches unbroken beneath open sky. People may have placed bodies under rock there because the view reached every horizon at once, giving death a wide witness instead of a narrow grave. The line still points NE-SW across grass, preserving that choice more clearly than any written account could.

In level pasture with excellent views in all directions. The first of four boulder-burials (CO132-029003-, CO132-029004-, CO132-029005-) set in a NE-SW line (total length 8m). This example stands at the SW end and consists of an irregularly shaped boulder (1.35m x 1.3m; H 1m) with a single support-stone visible under its W side. Another boulder-burial (CO132-029003-) is 0.1m to the NE and a standing stone (410, vol. 1) is c. 8m to the SSE. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
