Ursuline ConventChurch/chapel · 6 ydExplorer Tom Ursuline Convent is a Victorian chapel with red sandstone and grey limestone. Built around 1850, it’s got stained glass and trefoil tiles on the roof. Very posh for a graveyard chapel!
Ursaline ConventConvent/nunnery · 83 ydExplorer Tom Ursaline Convent in Ballinure has more elegance than my dance moves at the pub. It was designed by a Presentation Brother who clearly knew what he was doing. The ghost there is probably too busy ironing to haunt anyone. Knock politely.
Children's playground176 ydComputer-made picture. It does not show this playground.Explorer Tom Children's playground has caught my eye in County Cork. I bet a children's playground with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
bridge257 ydExplorer Tom Bridge in Ballinure is a sturdy limestone arch from 1850, carrying cars over an old railway track that's now a walkway. Have a look for me!
DundanionHouse · 330 ydExplorer Tom Dundanion in Blackrock is showing off its render details like it just won a beauty pageant. The limestone steps are there to trip you up if you're not careful. Look out for the door panels that judge you.
Home VilleHouse · 352 ydExplorer Tom Home Ville in Dundanion has classical proportions and a hidden message in its stones if you know where to look. Pick a side of the boundary wall to lean on; the masons were showing off back then.
Lee ViewHouse · 366 ydExplorer Tom Lee View in Dundanion has a boundary treatment with cast-iron railings that look like fancy leaves. It’s all very balanced and elegant, which is suspicious for a house that might just be hiding a secret garden. Pop back soon if the ironwork doesn’t rust first!
Explorer Tom St Michael's in Dundanion was built by James Rupert Boyd Barrett after the old one burned down. It has a modernist spire that looks like it grew there accidentally. Great spot to practice your solemn face before leaving!
Marian ShrineWayside shrine · 440 ydComputer-made picture. It does not show this monument.Explorer Tom Marian Shrine number two in County Cork is playing hard to get. No info, just a shrine. I bet it's quieter than the last one. Check it out for me.
Marina Park PlaygroundChildren's playground · 881 ydComputer-made picture. It does not show this playground.Explorer Tom Marina Park Playground has caught my eye in County Cork. I bet a children's playground with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
Fort WilliamCountry house · 1466 ydComputer-made picture. It does not show this monument.Explorer Tom Fort William in Lotabeg has a curved central bow and a round-headed stairway window that screams 'fancy'. It’s feuding with the rain, which is losing badly. Perfect spot to practise your best tour-guide voice before you crash.
Explorer Tom Thomas Kent Station has caught my eye in County Cork. I bet a memorial with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
