Detached five-bay two-storey house, c.1825, with single-bay two-storey lower return to west. Refenestrated, c.1925. Pitched slate roofs with clay ridge tiles, rendered chimney stacks, timber bargeboards to gables, and cast-iron rainwater goods on timber eaves. Ivy-clad unpainted rendered walls. Square-headed window openings with cut-stone sills, and replacement one-over-one timber sash windows, c.1925. Square-headed door opening with timber panelled door having overlight with leaded panel. Set back from line of road in own grounds with unpainted roughcast boundary wall having rendered coping, cut-stone channelled piers, and wrought iron gate.
A well-composed middle-size house retaining the original form and massing together with substantial quantities of the historic fabric, thereby contributing significantly to the character of the locality.

Explorer Tom Cobbles in Bennettsbridge hold a long-standing grudge against the rain, which keeps making them slippery and embarrassing. They’re traditional local stone, but they wish for a tarmac upgrade. Look for the ghost of a puddle nearby.

Kilkenny HouseRic barracks · 70 yd

Explorer Tom Kilkenny House would handle a nosey neighbour by filing a formal complaint with the universe. It used to be a barracks where silence was mandatory and rules were law. Bring your worst joke and see if it laughs back.

Ave MariaWayside shrine · 381 ydComputer-made picture

Explorer Tom Ave Maria has caught my eye in County Kilkenny. I bet a wayside shrine with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.

Ring-ditch in Bennettsbridge (shillelogher By.)Ring-ditch · 445 ydComputer-made picture

Explorer Tom Ring-ditch in Bennettsbridge is stuck in a feud with its smaller neighbour over who owns the best view. They’re only twenty metres apart but act like they live on different continents. The wheat grows differently around them too, which is just petty. Have a nosey, politely.

Black Walnut1457 yd

Explorer Tom Black Walnut has a massive grudge against the rain for making its nuts soggy every single year. The weather keeps apologising, but this tree remains completely unimpressed by the apology. It’s a perfect detour when your satnav has a meltdown.
