Bawn in Longford Demesne is a vanished walled estate in County Sligo, lost beneath level pasture and absent from every modern map. Duald MacFirbis wrote that the English built all of Longford except the bed of the yellow steed, implying that even conquest left one chamber empty for a legendary rider. The land may still remember that refusal, holding its shape in grass rather than stone.

Situated in level pasture in the demense lands of Longford House (SL019-092001-). Not marked on any edition of the OS 6-inch map. O'Rorke (1890, 116-8) recorded that Longford was one of the chief seats of the O'Dowd's and that the Genealogical Ms. of Duald MacFirbis chronicled that the English erected 'all the bawn of Longford, except Leaba an eich bhuidhe' i.e. the bed of the yellow steed.
