Kindletown Upper holds a vanished castle inside a rectangular bawn still marked by nettles and shallow ditch. The enclosure stretched fifty-two metres east to west and eighteen metres north to south, large enough to surround a house, a yard and every person who lived under its roof. What is left is a landscape line, but the line preserves the shape of the lost building and the daily life that filled it.

Kindlestown Castle (WI008-017----) originally stood in a large rectangular ditched enclosure (52m E-W; 18m N-S) which was still visible in 1990 (SMR file). Simpson (2003, 419) noted that 'only traces of the northern section of the moat are now visible, located 6.5m from the castle.
