What is recorded here
Gooraun Demesne, County Kilkenny. A battlefield, though no date or name has survived to mark it. The ground itself may still carry the shape of what happened there: boots, breath, fear, and the sudden quiet after noise. Men may have bled into the soil before records began, their names lost while the earth kept the fact of violence.
