What is recorded here

Deerpark in County Roscommon is a battlefield where violent history still sleeps beneath ordinary ground. The exact date and warring parties have faded from memory, leaving only the shape of the place to hint at what happened there. Men may have bled into the soil before writing existed to record their names. The land remembers what humans forgot.
