Barrow stands on a south-facing slope in County Roscommon, where four ancient features once aligned north to south. A missing fifteen-metre barrow may have vanished into a small quarry just south of the remaining mounds, erased by human hands rather than time. The others still hold their shape, waiting for someone to remember what the quarry took.
Towards the top of a S-facing slope. Knox (1914b, 352) describes four features in a N-S row with diameters corresponding to those of barrows (RO039-014001-; RO039-014002-) and rath (RO039-015----). While the location of the missing barrow (diam. c. 15m) is uncertain it may have been just S of (RO039-014002-) where there is a now a small quarry (diam. c. 5m; D 0.35-0.9m).
