What is recorded here

On low-lying, wet pasture, which is cut by land drains and watercourses. Within a large complex of ring-barrows. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. Identified as a circular-shaped cropmark by the Bruff aerial photographic survey in 1986 (Bruff 15612: AP 4/3665). Monument is visible as a roughly circular-shaped earthwork (13m E-W; 11.5m N-S) on OSi orthoimage taken 2005-2012 and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 25/03/2017. Ring-barrow, likely dating to the Early Bronze Age. Part of a significant burial complex, indicating communal or elite interment practices in a landscape now largely modified by agriculture.
