The following description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Carlow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Present remains consist of approximately circular mound on sloping ground (downslope H c. 1.5m, upslope H c. 0.2m; base diam. c. 15m). Now masked by boulders from field clearance and scarped on all sides.
A Neolithic mound barrow; significant as a rare surviving example of early funerary monument in the region.
