Ballynacarrick Stone Enclosure

In pasture, located on a slight elevation in gently undulating terrain broken by seams of limestone bedrock. Subcircular area (32m NW–SE; 28m NE–SW) defined by a low, moss- and grass-covered stone bank/wall (Wth c. 1.5- 2m). The stone bank is best preserved at NNE-SE where it incorporates large, irregular-shaped stone blocks, probably remnants of inner and outer wall facing. Elsewhere around the circuit, the stone bank is reduced to a slight rise or undulation from which occasional stones protrude, with sections at S and NW evident only as a mossy cropmark. The interior is grass-covered, with a few stones breaking the surface in the W half. The original entrance may have been at E where there appears to be a gap, marked on its outer S edge by a stone set perpendicular to the stone bank, and now partly obscured by stones and a hawthorn bush. There is a circular house (DG103-078002-) located 5m to SE, and another enclosure (DG103-079----) 170m to ENE.
