Ballyglass Cemetery

Mullingar Town cemetery wears its front gate like a medal: four limestone piers, crisp iron gates, and crenellated walls stretching north and south along the Longford road. Built around 1889, it still announces death with the same pride a town gives a market hall. Behind that polished threshold, ordinary people were laid to rest, while the nearby sexton’s lodge waited for footsteps in the dark.
