Ardaloo Castle stood on a gravel ridge where the Nore and Dinin rivers meet, its thick stone walls guarding a narrow passage that linked the main block to other buildings. Local tradition claims monks used the castle near their church, turning a defensive stronghold into a house of prayer. So much grass and soil has buried the stones that the castle has vanished from sight, leaving only a hidden ridge and a memory of arrows flying over water.
