Reverend Richard Murray (1779-1854) built Ardagh Demesne National School. Built in 1830, Ardagh Demesne National School is a detached two-storey school with three bays. A hipped slate roof survives. Ardagh Demesne National School belongs to a surviving architectural group at Longford.
