Architectural fragment in Slanecastle Demesne

Architectural fragment

What is recorded here

Slanecastle Demesne in County Meath still holds small carved stones inside its walls, including a possible human head and several roses. Those fragments may have come from a lost building or a forgotten chamber, carried into the college and tower house by hands that never explained their choice. The roses repeat like a quiet claim, while the head watches without a face clear enough to judge.
Apart from the armorial plaque of the Flemings (ME019-060012-) the inner face of the W wall of the cloister at the College has two small stones built into it, one carved with a rose and another that is thought to be a human head, while built into the outer face of the W wall of the tower house c. 1m over the ground is a stone with four roses carved on it.
