Arbour Hill Cemetery

Cemetery

What is recorded here

Fourteen leaders of the 1916 Rising sleep beneath a curved Wicklow granite wall, their names carved in English and Irish after Britain buried them in an unmarked quicklime pit. The chamber still smells of chalk dust and forgotten rage, waiting for students to trace the proclamation and remember the weight of that tempestuous choice.
Arbour Hill Cemetery is a cemetery in County Dublin, Ireland.
