Anomalous stone group in Inchinanagh

On a hillock, in rough rocky hill pasture on the S-facing slopes of Knockantooreen. Two stones, set on an E-W alignment and standing 1.05m apart, protrude above the surface of the bog. The E stone (H 0.8m; 0.19m x 0.18m), which is orientated NE-SW, is roughly square in plan at the base and leans to the SE. The upright stone (H 0.64m; 0.3m x 0.08m) at W, which is orientated E-W, is roughly rectangular in plan. A low narrow stone (H 0.18m; 0.47m x 0.04m) is parallel to and lies immediately NE of the W stone. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
