Single-arch sandstone bridge, built c.1850, carrying railway over road. Cut limestone piers flanking segmental-arch, having cut limestone voussoirs and impost course. Dressed sandstone to soffit and spandrels, having dressed sandstone parapet walls over cut limestone string course.
This bridge is a fine example and important part of a group of related railway bridges in the area. Its form and materials are characteristic of railway bridges of its time, demonstrating excellent engineering and skilled masonry.
